Bloglines : The ultimate news aggregator

You are a blogger and you want to know about what’s happening in the current world because you have to keep update your readers with current happening. What will you do. You should open any aggregator websites like Techmeme, Ycombinator or Google blog search. I found all these three websites very useful because they flash all the important current news in one place. Out of these three probably Techmeme is best because it gives the current happening and most important current news

of the tech industry.

But there are lots of things that got missed by me because of my Niche selection. Suppose i am writing on Web 2.0 and i found no news regarding it in any of the mentioned sites then i would have to do some extra work to find it.

The solution of the problem is Bloglines. It is the most appealing tool present on the web. According to Bloglines “We track your favorite news, blogs, weather, and classifieds so that you don’t have to.”

According to Wikipedia “Bloglines is a web-based news aggregator for reading syndicated feeds using the RSS and Atom formats. Mark Fletcher, former CEO of ONElist, founded the site in 2003 and sold it in February 2005 to Ask.com

What you could do with Bloglines:

You can add your feeds according to given categories like:

Art and designs,books ,celebrities,comics ,fashion,foods,library,movies,music,news, politics, shopping, sports,technology news,video games etc.

Also there are many recommended or you can say most popular websites given as a suggestion to make them subscribe for the news.

Once you subscribe and open your feeds there is a sidebar came and also a window. The sidebar contains list of your favourite blogs and when you click any one of them ,all the post appears on the right hand side window. You can choose how much old  post you want to see by the option given in the  footer of the window.

    1. I still prefer feed demon over bloglines. Probably I’m so used to using feeddemon. I’m unsure if bloglines provide you online backup of your subscribed feeds, that’s like one of the important feature which I need, because I’ on windows till now 😐
