Google’s Cloud Storage Service ‘Drive’ Ready to Launch in April

We are hearing many rumors about Google’s cloud storage service Google Drive or Gdrive since past 4-5 years. And now here is a news, which is supposed to not a rumor, Google Drive might be launch in first week of April. Rumors about Google’s cheap cloud storage service are coming since 2006. But we have not received any official release dates.

According to GigaOm, the site which first confirms this news, Google is planning to offer 1GB of data storage in cloud for free. This free storage capacity seems too low as many other cloud storage services like DropBox offers 2GB and more. Google which is known for offering most of its services free of cost, may increase free storage with time. Or it will adopt a continues storage increment with time like Gmail. Well, we can just imagine possibilities about this service until the final release.

Google Drive will come with web interface and a local client on your computer and mobile devices. You could upload and share files with friends and can access them from PC, Mac and mobile devices. An API for cloud services could be released for third party apps development. This service could be launched for Google Apps customers and will be domain specific.

We cross our fingers for the launch date and great service offered by the Google Drive.
