Sony Mobile Corp just announced their latest Android smartphone, Xperia Sola. This phone has a unique feature called “Floating Touch”. Now you don’t need to touch your phones screen to select a link from webpage. You have to float your finger over the screen (up to 20 mm above) to highlight links on a webpage and then tap finger on correct link. Xperia Sola runs on Android 2.3 OS which can be upgraded to Android 4.0 ICS.
Phone has a 3.7 inches multi-touch capacitive screen with 854 x 480 resolution TFT LCD display. Sony’s Mobile Bravia image processing technology make its screen a live experience. It will come with a powerful 1GHz dual-core ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 processor, Mali 400 GPU and 512MB RAM. Now a days Sony announces all of their smartphones NFC SmartTags enabled. Phone also features Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth.
For entertainment needs phone comes with a 5 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash, face detection, smile detection and geo-tagging. You can record 720p HD videos @30fps. Dual core processor inside this phone boosts camera processing so that you can initiate camera and capture shot within 4 seconds. xLOUD and 3D surround sound speaker technology creates a Walkman mobile feel inside Xperia Sola. Users have direct access to Sony Entertainment Network with pre-installed Video and Music Unlimited apps.
The Xperia Sola is available in three color options, White, Black and Red. The phone will be available for sale in Q2 of 2012.
